• Scope: Maanvira Botanics (“the Company”) gift cards are prepaid certificates allowing recipients to purchase botanical and natural products on our site. They’re issued in various denominations, delivered electronically (or physically on request), and valid for up to 3 years from issuance.
  • Legal compliance: We follow RBI’s Prepaid Payment Instrument (PPI) rules (gift cards are closed‐loop PPIs) and Indian consumer law. Cards are non‑reloadable, max value ₹10,000, and validity ≤3 years. Sale of gift cards is not subject to GST (GST applies when the gift card is redeemed for products). All terms are clearly disclosed per Consumer Protection regulations.
  • Purchase & activation: Customers can buy cards (fixed or custom amounts, typically from ₹500 up to ₹10,000) using online payments (credit/debit/UPI/netbanking). No fee is charged. Cards cannot be cancelled, refunded or returned after purchase. Email or mobile number changes can’t be made after purchase. Activation is immediate upon purchase.
  • Delivery: E-gift cards are emailed instantly with a unique code and instructions. (Physical cards may be mailed if offered; shipping costs if any will be borne by purchaser.) The email includes the card value, expiry date, and redemption instructions.
  • Redemption: Recipients enter the gift card code at checkout. Cards can be used online (on maanvirabotanics.com) and in any Company stores. If the order exceeds the card balance, remaining amount is paid by credit/debit/UPI. If the order is below the card value, the leftover balance stays on the same card for future use. Multiple gift cards can be used on one order, and cards can be combined with promotional codes and other payments. Gift cards cannot be used to buy other gift cards or be redeemed for cash.
  • Balance & Expiry: Card balance can be checked online (via our site) or by contacting customer support. Balance reminders are emailed periodically (e.g. after a major purchase or every 6 months). Cards expire after 36 months (unless a shorter validity is specified). Expired cards may be revalidated or reissued on request as permitted by RBI. After expiry, the unused balance is not automatically refunded (no legal refund required), but upon request a new card may be issued for the remaining balance per policy.
  • Refunds & Returns: Gift cards themselves are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. If a purchase paid with a gift card is returned or cancelled, we will credit the refund amount back to the same gift card or reissue a new card for that amount. If an item is exchanged for a lower-priced item, no cash is returned – the difference remains on the gift card. If exchanged for a higher-priced item, the recipient must pay the difference by other means.
  • Lost/Stolen Cards: Gift cards are like cash. The Company is not liable if a card is lost, stolen or used without permission. No replacement will be issued in such cases. Cardholders should safeguard their gift card codes. We may cancel a card if fraud is suspected.
  • Taxes (GST): Per CBIC guidance, gift cards are treated as “money-like” instruments. No GST is charged on the sale of the gift card. GST is applied on the actual products/services purchased using the card. Any GST on returned/exchanged items follows normal rules.
  • Promotions & Discounts: Gift cards can be used with site promotions and discount codes. The card’s remaining balance is reduced first, then discounts apply to any balance used. If a promo code or sale item covers the whole purchase, the gift card balance remains untouched.
  • Multiple Payment & Partial Use: If a purchase exceeds the card value, the user pays the remainder with other payment methods (credit/debit/UPI, etc.). If a purchase is less, the remaining balance stays on the card. More than one gift card can be applied to the same order.
  • Denominations: We offer preset denominations (e.g. ₹500, ₹1000, ₹2000, etc.) and allow custom amounts (in multiples of ₹100) between ₹500 and ₹10,000 (or as per RBI limit). Physical gift cards (if any) may have additional options.
  • Fees: No fees are charged for purchase or maintenance of the gift card (issuance and redemption are free of charge).
  • Liability & Disputes: The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the gift card. We are not responsible for any indirect loss or damage from gift card use or inability to use (e.g. technical issues beyond our control). If an unauthorized transaction is suspected, please follow the standard grievance policy (as per RBI directions). Any disputes will be handled in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019; unresolved issues may be escalated to consumer courts in Delhi.
  • Privacy & Data: We collect only the information needed (gift card purchaser’s and recipient’s name/email) to process and deliver the card. Personal data is used solely for gift card fulfillment and is protected under our Privacy Policy. We do not share recipient information with third parties, except as required by law (e.g. RBI KYC/AML guidelines).
  • Fraud Prevention: We reserve the right to verify purchaser details. Large or suspicious orders may be put on hold or cancelled if purchaser/recipient KYC details are incomplete or if fraud is detected. We may require additional verification (ID or address) for high-value gift card purchases.

Full Gift Card Policy

1. Purchase of Gift Cards

  • Who Can Buy: Any individual customer 18 or older with a valid payment method. Purchaser must provide correct name and email/phone. KYC details may be required for large orders.
  • Payment Methods: Credit/Debit cards, Netbanking, UPI, or any other online payment accepted on our site. Cash on delivery and buying with other gift cards or discount coupons is not allowed.
  • Denominations & Amounts: Gift cards are sold in fixed denominations (e.g. ₹500, ₹1000, ₹2000, etc.) and custom amounts in multiples of ₹100, subject to a minimum of ₹500 and a maximum of ₹10,000 per card. (We may adjust these limits to comply with RBI rules.)
  • Fees: There are no fees for purchasing or redeeming the gift card.
  • No Cancellation/Refund: Once a gift card is purchased, the sale is final. We do not cancel or refund gift card purchases. The purchaser cannot change the recipient’s email/phone after purchase, nor add cash to an existing card. Gift card cannot be used to buy other gift cards.
  • Activation: The gift card is activated upon purchase. For digital cards, activation (and delivery email) is instant. For physical cards, activation occurs when shipped.

2. Delivery of Gift Cards

  • E-Gift Cards: By default, cards are delivered via email to the recipient’s email address. The email includes the gift card value, unique code, sender’s name (if provided), instructions for redemption, and expiration date. Delivery is usually within minutes.
  • Physical Gift Cards: If offered (e.g. for special orders), physical gift cards will be mailed to the delivery address provided. Standard shipping charges and times apply. Physical cards will include a printed code or QR code. We are not responsible for delays or loss in postal transit.
  • Timing: We do not guarantee same-day shipping for physical cards ordered at the last minute. If email address is invalid or mail bounces, the purchaser is responsible for providing correct contact information.
  • Activation Notice: Purchaser and recipient will receive an automatic email confirmation after purchase, acknowledging the order and reminding that the gift card cannot be cancelled.

3. Redemption Process

  • Where to Redeem: Gift cards can be redeemed only on our official website (maanvirabotanics.com) and at our branded retail outlets (if any). Cards cannot be used at third-party stores.
  • How to Redeem Online: At checkout, the recipient enters the 16-digit gift card code (and any PIN if applicable) into the designated “Gift Card” box. The available balance is then applied to the order.
  • Offline Redemption: In-store, present the physical card or the code from your email. Our staff will swipe/scan or enter the code to deduct the purchase amount.
  • Partial Use and Combining Payments: If the order total exceeds the gift card balance, the remainder must be paid by other methods (card, UPI, etc.). If the order total is less than the gift card balance, the leftover remains on the card. Multiple gift cards can be used on one order, and they can be stacked with any other payment (credit card, etc.) or promotions.
  • Restrictions: Gift card value cannot be exchanged for cash or cash equivalents. It cannot be reloaded or transferred. Once redeemed, funds are final – you cannot get cash back for any unused balance except as prescribed by law.

4. Balance Inquiry & Notifications

  • Checking Balance: Recipients can check their remaining balance online by logging into their account and viewing “Gift Card Balance,” or by contacting our support team.
  • Balance Emails: To be customer-friendly, we may send email reminders of the card balance and expiry (e.g. after a major purchase or every 6 months). These are courtesy notices; customers may always check balance themselves.
  • Expiry & Revalidation: Each gift card expires 36 months from the date of issuance (as per RBI guidelines). We will display the expiry date on the card/email. In general, expired cards cannot be used. However, on request, we may revalidate or reissue a new card for the remaining balance (subject to verification and any regulatory requirements). Extension requests will be considered case-by-case.

5. Returns and Exchanges (Purchases Made with Gift Cards)

  • No Cash Refunds: Any return or exchange of items bought with a gift card will not result in cash being refunded to the customer.
  • Credit to Gift Card: If an order (paid partly or wholly with a gift card) is canceled or items returned, the refund amount will be credited back to the gift card. If the original gift card has expired or is otherwise unusable, we will issue a new gift card of equal value.
  • Exchanging to Lower-Value Items: If you return items and exchange them for items of lesser value, the price difference will be credited to your gift card balance. No cash difference is given.
  • Exchanging to Higher-Value Items: If you exchange items for more expensive products, you must pay the difference by other payment methods (credit card, UPI, etc.).
  • Shipping Fees on Returns: Any shipping or restocking fees stated in our general Returns Policy still apply. Those fees are not reimbursed by gift card funds.

6. Lost, Stolen, or Fraudulent Cards

  • Treat as Cash: Once issued, the gift card is equivalent to cash. We strongly advise the recipient to keep the code confidential. We are not responsible for loss, theft or unauthorized use of your gift card. Lost or stolen gift cards cannot be replaced or refunded.
  • Security: Gift cards are non-reloadable. If we suspect a card was obtained or used fraudulently (e.g. stolen credit card used to buy it), we may cancel the card without liability, per RBI KYC/AML rules.
  • Unauthorized Charges: If you notice unauthorized charges on your gift card, contact customer support immediately. We will investigate as per our grievance policy, in line with RBI regulations. We may require ID verification. However, we cannot guarantee reimbursement for unauthorized use if the card was not properly safeguarded.

7. Taxes and Regulatory Compliance

  • GST on Gift Cards: Per CBIC Circular, gift card/voucher sale is not a supply of goods/services. Thus no GST is charged when you purchase a gift card. GST is applied only on products/services when the gift card is redeemed.
  • RBI Compliance: Gift cards are classified as prepaid payment instruments under RBI’s Master Directions. We comply with all PPI rules: e.g., card values ≤₹10,000 and non-reloadable, minimum 1-year validity (we offer up to 3 years), and no cash-out. We will share KYC information with RBI or law enforcement if required.
  • Consumer Protection: We adhere to the Consumer Protection (E-commerce) Rules 2020. All gift card terms are clearly disclosed on our site. We provide a grievance redressal mechanism and honor all statutory rights. For any unresolved complaint, consumers may approach the appropriate consumer forum.

8. Promotions and Discounts

  • Combining Offers: Gift cards may be used in conjunction with site promotions, coupons, or other discounts. During checkout, apply any promo code after the gift card value is deducted. Any remaining payable amount will then be eligible for the promotion.
  • Exclusions: If a promotion specifically excludes gift card purchases (rare), that will be noted in the promotion terms. Normally, purchasing goods with a gift card can earn reward points or discounts as usual. Gift cards themselves cannot be discounted except during special sales (e.g. “buy ₹2000 card for ₹1800”).
  • Partial Redemption: If a discount causes the order total to drop below the gift card value, the surplus stays on the card.

9. Liability, Warranty & Dispute Resolution

  • No Warranty: The Company makes no express or implied warranty on gift cards (merchantability or fitness). If the card is defective, the only remedy is replacement for the remaining balance.
  • Technical Issues: We will try to ensure uninterrupted gift card service, but are not liable for technical failures beyond our control (e.g. server downtime, connectivity issues).
  • Limitation of Liability: Our maximum liability is limited to the face value of the gift card. We disclaim any indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, etc.).
