Most hair fall isn\’t caused by one dramatic thing — it\’s a handful of small daily habits quietly adding up. Here are seven of the most common ones.

1. Brushing Hair When It\’s Soaking Wet
Wet hair stretches and snaps far more easily than dry hair. Use a wide-tooth comb, and only after towel-drying most of the moisture out.
2. Tight Ponytails and Buns, Every Single Day
Constant tension on the same section of hair leads to traction alopecia over time — thinning specifically along the hairline and part.
3. Skipping Conditioner
Shampoo alone leaves hair cuticles rough and prone to tangling and breakage. Conditioner isn\’t optional — it\’s the step that actually protects the strand.
4. High Heat, Used Often
Straighteners and dryers on high heat, used daily, weaken the protein structure of hair. If you must use heat, keep it occasional and use the lowest setting that works.
5. Rough Towel-Drying
Vigorously rubbing hair with a towel roughs up the cuticle and causes frizz and breakage. Pat and squeeze instead.
6. Over-Washing (or Under-Washing)
Both extremes cause problems — over-washing strips natural oils, under-washing lets product and sebum build up and clog follicles. Most people do best around 2-3 washes a week.
7. Ignoring Your Scalp
Most hair care focuses on the strands and forgets the scalp entirely. Healthy hair starts at the follicle — a neglected, product-clogged scalp will always show up as weaker hair eventually.
None of these habits are dramatic on their own. But fix even two or three, and most people notice a real difference in shedding within a few weeks.
